The Eyekepper BB60 lenses feature a 12-layer yellowish coating, providing 100% UV protection. Tested using a spectrometer, the blue light blocking performance is as follows: 35% blocking within 500nm, 42% blocking within 490nm, 49% blocking within 480nm, 55% blocking within 470nm, 60% blocking within 460nm, 64% blocking within 450nm, 67% blocking within 440nm, 77% blocking within 430nm, 97% blocking within 420nm, and over 99% blocking within 400nm-410nm. This results in a 20% color distortion due to the filtering of 30% of the blue color.
The Eyekepper BB60 lenses are crafted with memory titanium frames. The lens width is approximately 1 7/8 inches (47mm), the frame width is around 4 3/4 inches (120mm), the lens height is about 1 5/8 inches (42mm), the bridge (DBL) is around 11/16 inch (18mm), and the temple length is approximately 5 1/8 inches (130mm), without spring hinges.
According to the Occupational Safety & Health Administration, the preferred viewing distance for VDTs (Visual Display Terminals) ranges between 18 and 24 inches (45.72 and 60.96 centimeters, respectively). The Eyekepper BB60 lenses filter out 100% of the most damaging low-level blue light and nearly 60% of high-energy visible light from tablets, phones, TVs, and computers.
Eyekepper offers a range of blue light blocking glasses, including the BB40 (40% blue light blocking), BB60 (60% blue light blocking), BB90 (90% blue light blocking), and BB98 (nearly 100% blue light blocking) for wavelengths between 395nm and 500nm.
The blue light protection can be tested using a spectrum analyzer (for wavelengths from 280nm to 780nm), a blue light meter (for 450nm wavelength), and a UV pen-shaped light and card (for testing UV light under 400nm). Eyekepper will test and provide the following data before shipment: strength, pupil distance, horizontal position, astigmatism, prism, and blue light spectral distribution.
Blue light, which is adjacent to UV light on the spectrum, is emitted in large quantities by electronic devices with backlit screens, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and computers. This blue light can disrupt our internal clock, making us feel like it's midday when it's closer to nighttime, and hindering the natural production of melatonin, which helps us fall asleep.
To avoid damaging the violet block glasses, never clean them with paper towels, clothing, alcohol, household detergents, or soaps.
